Grand Liner

Built by the transhuman Outsiders, Grand Liners are massive interstellar exploration vessels and cityships, capable of transporting thousands of smaller, interplanetary craft within their ample docking bays. They are also heavily armed with weapons powerful enough to crack open small moons and devastate entire settled worlds.

Grand Liners form the very basis of the Outsider society: most Outsiders live their lives almost entirely onboard these ships, only rarely leaving them in order to visit planets or habitats. Essentially, each Grand Liner is a mobile civilization on its own, equipped with everything you might need in the depths of unexplored space. They also carry sophisticated fabricator lines and an army of worker robots capable of constructing what is not instantly available.

Despite their size (the average Grand Liner is over 10 kilometers in length), Grand Liners have quite small crews - most of the systems are automated, and the rest are tended by androgynous, vat-grown gwailos, an artificial slave race to the Outsiders.
